Rusty grew up in the Central Arkansas area of Little Rock till he was around twelve years old. His father remarried and he and his younger brother moved to the Lonoke, Arkansas area. When he went into Junior High he had a knack for music. So he joined the Junior High School Band. He started out playing the trombone. The band director noticed a interest he showed for valve instruments and switched him to the Baritone. As he went through his junior high years his talent excelled. Winning ribbons and numorous awards in solo contests as well as scholorships to band camps. Senior High school rolled around. He was asked to switch instruments once again to a Euphonium. Which is a four valve baritone with a deeper sound. His first year he tried was asked to compete in the All-region band compatition. He made it his first time. Second band, second chair. Showing a interist in marching band the next year for imporvisation solo's he played his first with them. As his second year rolled around he was once again asked to try out for All-region band. He made it yet again. Second band, first chair. Which also made him a alternate for All-State band. At the end of his tenth grade year in high school he had to get braces, but that didn't stop him. He kept playing his instrument. His father also got a new job in Paragould Arkansas. So at the last minute he moved up to Piggott, Arkansas with his family. He met a very telented band director there. Who ignited his interest in marching band once again. Rusty graduated high school with six years of classical music information as well as performance time. He then went into the United States Marine Corps. Making it half-way through he got hurt and was sent home on a uncharacterized discharge. Rusty bounced around for many years job to job. Playing his guitar and country music every step of the way. He married on August 8,2003 to a Amy Marie Johnson. Whe encourages his music. He also at that time picked up a part-time Job with Autozone. Three years later (current day) Rusty still works for Autozone. He also has a side business mowing yards for extra money which he uses for his music, and hunting hobbies. He is currently looking for a band. Either to build one or to audition with one.
