Urbanizm Music was an idea created by DCT in early 2004, when he became disenfranchised with the bad direction urban music was going. As far as rappers go, people were either talking about how 'gangsta' they were, or rapping about all their jewels and such, and that was all b.s. to me. Singers...well I'll put it this way: the R&B world has taken a severe turn for the worse, and seemingly no one cares. And it kinda hurt me personally that all people considered instrumental hip hop and R&B music to be 'beats.' I've gotten in more than my fair share of arguments with people who have told me, 'you can't rap/sing to that' when it's not made to be rapped/sung to. Some instrumental music should just stand alone and be appreciated. DCT voiced his concerns to some of his musical colleagues, including Joshua Morse, Skrybe, and Diggi Dis. He decided to institute a movement that would bring music back to the music business and give true music fans something to look forward to. In addition to composing their own works, Urbanizm Music houses its own staff of music producers and composers.
